At Provision Inspection Services, we offer the following insurance inspections:

4-Point Insurance Inspection

We offer Roof Inspections as part of the Standard Home Inspection or a Preventive Roof Inspection that will help owners to keep the roof in good condition and extend the life duration, avoiding emergency costly repairs.

This is what we look for when inspecting a roof:

  • Check flashing for damage or for inadequate coverage

  • Look under eaves and overhangs for damage that might mean water leakage

  • Examine shingles for any that are missing, cracked, curled, torn, or warped

  • Look for any open seams or joints that could lead to leaking

  • Look for popped or rusted nails or stains around nails

  • Check for unevenness, sagging, or unsound areas

  • Inspect your sources of roof ventilation—are they clogged, do you have ventilation, is there enough ventilation?

  • Inspect gutters for sagging, signs of leaks, and accumulation of granules

  • Check for dark patches or growth

  • Check around pipes and roof penetrations to make sure they are sealed and in good shape

  • Look inside the attic for signs of leaks, dark spots, holes, or sagging sheathing

Wind Mitigation Assessment

The Wind Mitigation Assessment documents wind-related construction features and determines opportunities for insurance premium savings if adding wind resistive construction features. Uses state form OIR-B1-1802.

You can probably save money with a Wind Mitigation Assessment.

The Windstorm portion of your homeowner's policy can be between 20 and 70 percent of your total premium! With a Wind Mitigation report, you may gain significant savings in this area of your Homeowners Insurance. Please check with your insurance provider and ask them if you have an opportunity to get a policy discount in case your house have the wind mitigation design features. Most homes built after 2003 already qualify for that discount, but you need to provide the inspection report.

Building design and installation features that reduce wind damage include: better designed roof shingles, stronger roof construction, hurricane clips/straps, hurricane resistant windows or shutter protection for windows, roof shape and other construction techniques.

"...when Provision Property Services did my Wind Mitigation inspection and I sent the report to my insurance provider, I saved $158 a year on my insurance and it more than paid for the inspection. "   Alex Cranton, Saint Augustine, FL
